What is a group?

Groups are a fun way to tie people together. The goal is to get several people from an organization, school, or even just a group of friends, to participate in the project as a team.

Why would I join a group?

Because being alone is never as fun as being with a group! It's easy to get a group of people together with the same interests. Whether that be a group of photo students at a local high school, a group of nature photographers on Flickr, or a realtor association serving our area, it's always good to get together with people you know. Groups are a great place to share Capture My Chicago with other people you know.

What's the benefit of a group?

Everyone that's a part of a group gets to see their profile page with other group members. And, all group member's photos, votes, and other activity is added together and shown to the world. Think of it like bragging rights for you and the people you live with, work with, play with, share with. Each group gets to link back to their own website if they have one. It's exposure, in other words. If you're a part of a photo class, or business, or charity, etc., it's always good to generate interest in your organization.

How do I create a group?

If you're a part of a group of photographers, a school, a sports team, an organization, or any other group that has at least four photographers who'd like to upload photos and be associated with each other in a group, shoot us an email and we'll get your group set up. Once it's set up, everyone in the group will be shown on the group's profile page, and the group will be featured on the people page.

Can I join more than one group?

Yes. There's no limit on the number of groups you can be a part of.

What is the leaderboard on the group page?

These are the highest-rated photos from group members, recently.
