Glacial Sunrise 2
Winter sunrise on Nippersink Creek in Glacial Park, McHenry County. Another image I was able to save using the "dodge" tool. I had used 3 stops of graduated split field ND gray filters to darken the sky and bring out the grasses along the shoreline, but it had made the reflection much too light for my liking. The "dodge" tool allowed me to darken the reflection slightly and make the image more pleasing to my eye, and hopefully yours.

commented over 1 year agoFind places, bodies of water for example, with nice shapes to them, that would cause someone's eye to move through the image in some way, and then be ready. See a nice sky or clouds and get there. No matter where you go in the country, there are a finite number of good spots. Finding them is the first trick.
