Cornucopia of Color

Ears of colored corn at the Grayslake Farmers Market. I am not sure if they are edible...I should have asked.

    You can buy flour in specialty markets ground using "calico" corn. The reason you don't see it regularly is that hybred yellow corn is more disease and insect resistant and produces a higher yield for the farm. Still, these ears are prettier to lood at :-)
