Strange encounter
Today (Aug 5, 2011) I had CT scan (for now I am cancer-free, thanks for asking) at the University of Chicago medical center. While waiting on appointment I decided to take a walk. Of course, I have camera wherever I go. In front of the Brain Surgery Research Center there were two sculptures that looked interesting and challenging to shoot at noon. Should I try HDR? while setting up my tripod I noticed this poor thing that hoped for some food I guess. When I took a closer look I saw that it had big scars on its right side. It approached me with no fear... Attitude of every creature that faced death. It could have been just hunger, but her body language was telling me that she was checking out with dignity if she can grab a bite without begging.
I took a shot and walked over to the Starbucks across the street to buy some pastry. When I came back - she was gone.
I was pissed: now I had to go back & get some coffee to go along.
