Early Bird

I've been following thewindypixel blog for a little while run by fellow flickr'er Justin Kern. Great photographer, I had forgotten about the blog for a little while, but something prompted me to check back, then I remembered Justins shots of Chicago from the North end and decided to check out the place for myself. Justin kindly assisted us in providing precise location details, and we headed out this morning, I say morning, 4am felt more like the middle of the night! Thanks Justin and thanks Mark.B for being crazy enough to join me.

Interestingly Justin lost a ND filter to the lake right here, Mark.B this morning dropped his 4x4 ND Grad filter almost into the water, narrowly escaping it, as for me, I dropped my 10stop ND filter into the lake, quickly followed by me jumping in to fish it out, it was deeper than it looked, a couple of wet feet later though and I had retrieved it! Must be something about this location and filters, still Mark and myself have been inaugurated!
