It's pretty basic Photoshop stuff. I processed the original image for more saturation and contrast in the sax player and pretty much ignored the rest. Then I processed another copy for the correct contrast and sharpness in B&W. Drag the B&W image to the color one and drop it on top. (Shift while you do this will automatically line them up perfectly.)
Then cut away the figure of the man and the box in the B&W layer to reveal the color underneath.
Flatten, make final adjustments and it's done. :)
