Autumn Wood Ducks

A pair of wood ducks take a swim on a gorgeous Fall day in November at Spring Valley Nature Center. I am in total and complete awe of the colors on a male wood duck.

    Super .... It's great you got both male and female in the same shot. Frankly, I sometimes think of male Wood Ducks as being from the cast of "La Cage Aux Fowl", not that it's a bad thing, of course. Many species of male birds are more brightly colored ..... They are most usual. Good job ....

    David, I rarely get closeups of single wood ducks so getting a pair together was like winning the lottery. i guess if you keep trying good things willl eventually happen. Thanks for the great feedback.

    Rare about here. Used to be so many woodducks here at nature center a decade and more ago. I had one lucky shot so I appreciate your sharing this one. Supersweetshot!
