POINT du SABLE LOOKS OUT ON HIS CITY
Jean Baptiste Point du Sable looks over the city he is credited with founding. In the 1780s, his homesite, designated as a National Historic Landmark, was on the site of the current Pioneer Court. This statue by Erik Blome, erected late in 2009, honors Point du Sable, a man of African-Caribbean descent.
