After the Rain
Life has gotten quite busy these days, leaving me little time for doing what I love to do. But, today, I "stole" a little time for myself and off I went to the Chicago Botanic Gardens. It was glorious to walk in the gardens today ... the air smelled so fresh after the thunderstorm we had ... and it felt so damn good to be outdoors in nature ... just the nourishment my soul needed. :)

Soribashi Arched Bridge
In Japan, a garden bridge is a symbolic link between this world and paradise, an arch suggests the difficulty of the path. Sansho-en's graceful bridge was inspired by the 17th-century arched bridge in Ritsurin Park, Takamatsu, Japan. Although I had a gazillion things to do last weekend, I felt that I needed to find a little time for myself to enjoy what I love to do. So, off I went to the Botanic Gardens, which are in the very beginning stages of blooming. I spent most of my time at the Japense Gardens, which is where this image was taken.

Medieval Staircase
A big thank you to Chris Smith (OutofChicago.com) for organizing a photowalk at the Unversity of Chicago yesterday!!! It is a great place for photography and it was a lot of fun! I'd never been there before and it is a treasure trove of amazing architecture and photo opportunities. Walking through this place was kind of like stepping back in time. This staircase is the entryway of the Chicago Theological Seminary.

Two Halls
A big thank you to Mister Joe for graciously allowing me to use his wide-angle lens, without which I could not have taken this photo. This image is a hallway at the Chicago Theological Seminary at the University of Chicago.

Sleeping Angel
Had a really fun day today shooting with a great and talented group of photographers at the University of Chicago. The gothic architecture found there are both historical and beautiful. This image is a portion of stained glass found on one of the buildings.

The Red Window
This image is one of the buildings on the University of Chicago's campus. I was struck by the unusual sight of a red light shining through one of the windows.

I can't help myself ... this is yet another image taken from my recent excursion at the Morton Arboretum.

Winter Wonderland II
This is another image from my recent excursion to the Morton Arboretum. The snow covering the trees was absolutely beautiful. I never thought I'd say this, but I kinda missed the snow this year. I'm sure we'll make up for it next year! :)
