About Me

Hello Chicago. I started taking photographs as a child in the 1950's using a family hand-me-down Kodak Brownie-2 box camera shooting black-and-white 120 emulsion film. My favorite subjects today are found in nature, no doubt a result of my early years growing up in (then) rural Orland Park. My tendency is to go for the "Audubon-nature-guide" look when cataloging the critters around me. What I'd like to do periodically is break away from that to depict nature as a "higher-art-form" and, perhaps, draw in more people to the need for better environmental practices.

In my quest to master another hobby, the guitar, there is a saying, "Practice, Patience, and Persistance." The 3-P's seem to apply to learning to take good photographs, too.
