NATO Protesters were at it again today...

The day started out with a March to the Boeing Corporate Headquarters to protest their involvement with making war machines for profit. The group then marched to Obama's HQ by Millennium Park where they held a press conference to let their demands be known. After the press conference, Protesters again took to the streets for the Occupy Chicago Shut Down ICE - No Dialog with State Terror March... They marched all over the loop and printers row, before arriving in front of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency(ICE) to protest plans of creating a new immigrant detention camp. No "Black Bloc" tactics were employed and the events where peaceful for the most part. A few arrests were made....

Attention all Golfers...

Attention all Golfers...

Before you buy a Nike golf product you may want to read this....

I was playing golf with my mom on mothersday and after a great afternoon, I T'd up my ball on the 18th hole to finish out the round. I lined up and hit a powerful drive that would have been great, accept the head of my $500.00 Nike 400cc Driver went flying with it. We were all shocked and It was a major bummer. I have 3 other witnesses that saw this happen and after consulting the resident golf pro, he suggested I call the manufacturer because its clear this was not my fault. First off I want to make it clear that even though I have had this club for around 6 years, I keep my golf clubs in my house in the closet and only use them a few times a year. These clubs have been babied for the majority of their years and have not been abused in any way. I just called Nike to tell them about my problem and even after the rep admitted that he had never heard of this happening, he said that there was nothing he could do to help me since it was out of warranty. He recommended I go to sportmart and buy a new, cheaper driver that is a few years old to replace it and that hopefully I choose to stay with the Nike brand. After I told him I would not be purchasing another nike club, he said that he was sorry to hear that and that he wishes me luck in my search for a new club... WOW, seriously!?!?! Yeah, needless to say I will no longer buy any Nike Golf product, and after that horrible customer experience, I may not even buy any more Nike products period... According to Nike's website, they say that they "Nike stands behind all its products for flaws in materials or workmanship for both our retail accounts and consumers." Obviously this is not true...

Anyone have any recommendations for a new driver...? That Taylormade R11 looks pretty sweet!!!!

Solar Eclipse Sunset...

After the solar eclipse passed behind the horizon, the color in the sky was amazing!!! It was a breathtaking couple of hours and a sunset that I will never forget!!!

In case you missed tonight's Solar Eclipse, here it is as seen from Chicago.. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partially obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon's apparent diameter is smaller than the Sun, causing the Sun to look like an annulus (ring), blocking most of the Sun's light. The ring of fire was only visible through the lower southwestern states, here in we only could see half of the eclipse, just before sunset....

Robin Hood Nurses Rally

Thousands of Nurses gathered at the daily center during the NATO summit to promote the Robin Hood tax for big banks. Simply put, the big idea behind the Robin Hood Tax is to generate hundreds of billions of dollars. That money could provide funding for jobs to kickstart the economy and get America back on its feet. It could help save the social safety net here and around the world. The rally ended with a “Environmental Justice Alliance” march, in which a group walked around the Loop, issuing warrants for arrest of the corporations and government organizations responsible for destabilizing the climate. One protester tore down a huge NATO sign while the group cheered him on. Several arrests were made...
