No Blues Here
Our crab apple tree blossomed just in time to have all of its lovely pink petals blown off by the weekend storms. But I did get a few photos of some very pretty birds in it before it was de-nuded ... cardinals, orioles, gross-beaks, blue-jays, red breasted woodpeckers, an indigo bunting, a little warbler, plus a few more. Oh yeah, a wren and a hummingbird.
Tom and Tom and Tom and Tom
These big boys were happy to find an opening in the woods with no snow ...Yeah Food
Grasses hanging down over the banks of Boone Creek in Bull Valley had a right to feel "frosted" Monday morning.
Two Handsome Fellows
These two toms came out on the south side of the pinewoods today to find what-ever bit of nourishment the recent sunshine and warmer weather might have uncovered.
His Best Profile Photo!

These fancy "forklifts" seem to be in an attack mode and ready to go at each other yesterday, Jan 10 in Cary's foggy weather.
"Rats with Wings" --- that is how someone described this pesky bird and I guess I agree with him.
This robin seemed to really enjoy the red berries on this vine ... he was really packing them away during this early morning breakfast.
A Wet Day In May?
No, not a wet day in May ... I shot this today. There is not a single leaf or apple on our flowering crab in the back yard. This BLOSSOM is the only thing on it.
Old and Worthless
Just like how I feel once in a while ... but not this bad! Or like some relief pitchers I know of BUT yes, that bad!
I'm one of those old ... 70 something ... retired guys you see so frequently out enjoying the beauty of Chicagoland's numerous forest preserves ... I usually will have a 400mm lens on my canon.
