Geneva Dam Fly By
The Fox River in Geneva is frequented by all sorts of water birds looking to catch a fish in the shallow pool where the water flows over the dam. This Great Blue Heron takes flight after finishing it's meal.

Sitting on Top of the World
Brookfield Zoo is known for it's fine collection of animals - but it also has a lovely butterfly house that is open during the summer. Hundreds of butterflies at a time are free flying among the lovely flowers in the house - giving you the opportunity to get up close and personal.

Sailing teams were practicing for the Chicago Match Race on the day that my husband and I visited Navy Pier during the Tall Ships Festival. It was really fun watching them in action.

A Perfect Day to Reflect
Fermilab in Batavia is a great place to visit. Trails for hiking and biking, lakes with all sorts of wildlife - and the unique architecture of Wilson Hall. The reflections on the pool in front of the hall were beautiful on this sunny, summer afternoon.
