Red, White and Blue Architecture

When I took this image I had the Fourth of July in mind. As such, I waited to upload it coincidental with the beginning of an extended holiday weekend such as we are beginning.

The image features the red, white and blue contrast provided by three neighboring downtown buildings. The contrast also extends to different eras and architectural styles. In the foreground is the top of the Chicago Auditorium Building built in 1889, considered a local and national treasure, designed by Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler. It has been officially designated as a Chicago Landmark and a U.S. National Historic Landmark as well as listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the background representing a much more modern eras and styles are the colorfully clad, Roosevelt University Vertical Campus, at left, and the distinctive red-shaded CNA Center. Reading clockwise from right, red, white and blue.

Happy Fourth of July everybody! Show your red, white and blue and be safe and happy.

Attach an invitation!
