Silken Dreaming

I was passing by the Woodlawn Community Garden on 64th Street when I spotted this silk flower on the top of the locked gate to the garden. In Summer the garden is full of colorful blooms, but on January 10th the flowers and their colors are long gone.

Apparently, somebody - a lover of Springtime, flowers and colors - couldn't wait to see the many real colorful blooms primping & swaying in warm breezes. So he, or she placed a silk flower on the wrought-iron entrance in January while wistfully dreaming of another Season.
